West Ham set to sign William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon - reports

William Carvalho helped Portugal to win Euro 2016.

Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is close to joining West Ham United in a deal worth around £30 million, according to reports.

The BBC said West Ham, beaten 4-0 at Manchester United in their Premier League opener on Sunday, have already had a bid for the Portugal international turned down but manager Slaven Bilic now hoped a move could go through.

Sky Sports reported that the Londoners and Sporting were now in "advanced talks" about a deal for Carvalho, 25.

Stoke from Bruno Martins Indi from Porto on five-year contract

Stoke manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that Stoke are to complete the signing of Bruno Martins Indi following his loan spell with the club.

Bruno Martins Indi has completed a permanent transfer from Porto to Stoke, after spending last season on loan with the Premier League club.

Martins Indi, 25, signed a five-year contract and moves for a fee of €7.7 million.

He said he is ready to put protracted negotiations behind him and achieve "special things" with Stoke after finally signing a permanent deal with the club.

Houston Dynamo sign Tomas Martinez from Braga as third designated player

Tomas Martinez has moved to the Houston Dynamo on a permanent deal from Braga.

The Houston Dynamo signed Argentine midfielder Tomas Martinez as a young designated player on Monday.

Martinez, 22, moves from Portuguese club Braga and joins 24-year-old Erick "Cubo" Torres and 21-year Alberth Elis as Houston's third designated player, giving the Dynamo the youngest set of DPs in MLS.
