Basement boys East Stirling survived a second-half onslaught from Arbroath to seal a much-needed goalless Scottish League Two draw at Gayfield Park.
The home side enjoyed the majority of possession against their struggling opponents and Andy Munro was unfortunate to see an early close-range header clear the crossbar before chances from Kane Hester and Jordan Lowdon sailed wide.
At the other end, Smokies defender Richard Little blocked a Neil McCabe effort in the 43rd minute to ensure the scores were level at half-time.
The hosts pressed for an opener after the break with Jamie Reid shooting wide before Mark Whatley was denied and efforts came in thick and fast from Arbroath but the visitors held on for a point.
