Bairns survive scare
Falkirk were forced to come from behind to beat League Two Montrose 3-1 in the first round of the Scottish League Cup.
The home side went ahead after 24 minutes when Garry Wood nodded in from a tight angle after a swirling shot from a team-mate had caused confusion in the Bairns defence.
But Falkirk levelled six minutes later from the penalty spot after Scott Durojaiye was hauled down and Blair Alston made no mistake.
Alex Cooper made it 2-1 to Falkirk as half-time approached after creating space for himself and Scott Shepherd wrapped the game up two minutes from time after good work from Conor McGrandles.
