Dunfermline host Raith Rovers in a Petrofac Training Cup Fife derby and the Pars will include new signing striker Gozie Ugwu if international clearance comes through in time following his move from Reading.
Alex Whittle drops out of the squad that beat Annan 5-1 on Saturday due to suspension and Andy Stirling is not likely to be risked after sustaining a knock in training.
Manager Jim Jefferies said: "I wanted us to be going into this game with a lift after getting a good result and performance against Annan on Saturday and we are doing that.
"It will be tough but it should be a cracking cup tie."
The Kirkcaldy Cup holders will need to make changes to the side that defeated Forfar 4-2 after extra-time at the weekend as Grant Anderson and Calum Elliot are suspended.
Knee injuries continue to keep Craig Barr and Dougie Hill sidelined, with manager Grant Murray saying: "There is added pressure on us as we won the competition last season.
"However, we have to handle that. We won at Dunfermline in a cup-tie last season and a repeat of that would be great.
"Cup football is all about getting through and despite a few tired legs after the weekend I have to put out a side that will achieve that."
