Leipzig lead Man United, Man City in chasing Daishawn Redan - sources

Netherlands youth international Daishawn Redan is nearing a move to RB Leipzig, sources told ESPN FC.

Manchester United and Manchester City risk missing out on Ajax starlet Daishawn Redan with RB Leipzig closing in on his signing, sources in Germany have told ESPN FC.

Redan has emerged as a target for Premier League giants United and City as well as French champions Paris Saint-Germain after a string of impressive performances for the Netherlands youth teams.

The 16-year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting young talents this season and he has scored 19 goals so far this season.

Ajax have been hoping to tie down the teenager to a new deal, but now big-spending Leipzig are hoping to lure Redan to Germany, sources said.

Bundesliga challengers Leipzig are set to play in next season's Champions League and they are looking to bring in some star names.
