Sevilla seal deals for Brazilian Ganso and Palermo's Franco Vazquez

Sevilla signed one-time wonderkid Paulo Henrique Ganso from Sao Paulo on Saturday, hours after completing a deal for Palermo's Franco Vazquez.

Both players signed five-year deals with the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan side after completing their transfers. Ganso for a reported €9.5 million and Vazquez for €15m.

Ganso joined Sao Paulo in 2012, with his career having stalled after he had first emerged alongside fellow teenage sensation and DIS investment Neymar at rival Brazilian club Santos.

"I would like to thank Sao Paulo for everything the club has done for me," Ganso said in a statement. "Sao Paulo will forever have a place in my heart. But I think the time was right to make the move to Europe."

Sao Paulo president Carlos Augusto de Barros told Brazilian channel SporTV that he accepted the player's desire to move to Europe.

"Ganso is out of the plans of Sao Paulo for the rest of the season," he said. "He told me that he would like to go to the team that he wants. It's a condition that I have to accept. He has always behaved very well, and contributed with his wonderful football."

Vazquez, capped twice by Italy, joined Palermo in January 2012 and previously played in La Liga in 2012-13 while on loan at Rayo Vallecano.

Sevilla have had a busy summer, signing Atletico Madrid holding midfielder Matias Kranevitter on loan, ex-Sampdoria winger Joaquin Correa, Pablo Sarabia from Getafe and Hiroshi Kiyotake from Hannover, while midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak has left for Paris Saint-Germain and playmaker Ever Banega moved to Inter Milan.
