Roberto Rojas is perhaps best known for intentionally slicing his own forehead in a World Cup qualifier against Brazil in 1989.

SAO PAULO -- A Brazilian hospital says former Chile goalkeeper Roberto Rojas has undergone a liver transplant.

Sao Paulo's Albert Einstein hospital said in a statement Wednesday that the operation went as expected on Tuesday.

The hospital said the 57-year-old Rojas is in an intensive care unit but his condition is "good" and "improving."

The former goalkeeper was hospitalized last year to treat a urinary infection, chest pain and a pulmonary edema.

Neymar brings an end to dispute with Gary Medel over challenge

Brazil forward Neymar was critical of Chile after he was on the receiving end of some tough challenges during their 1-0 friendly win at the Emirates Stadium.

Brazil captain Neymar refused to continue his war of words with Gary Medel after the Chile midfielder accused him of "theatrics."

Neymar hit out at Medel following the Inter Milan player's challenge on him during Brazil's 1-0 friendly win over Chile on Sunday.

Replays showed that Medel's boot was planted on the forward's calf, and Neymar likened the tackle to something from UFC -- the Mixed Martial Arts promotion.

Neymar was not happy with Medel after the pair clashed in the first half.

Medel soon responded on Twitter, writing: "Clashes are normal during a match....
