Croatia set to snub Liverpool's Dejan Lovren from Euro 2016 squad

Dejan Lovren is unlikely to find a place in the Croatio Euro 2016 squad this summer.

Croatia are set to snub Dejan Lovren from their Euro 2016 squad after the Liverpool defender demanded to be in the starting lineup.

Manager Ante Cacic held a meeting Lovren on Sunday, just over a fortnight after the pair's apparent row during the international break.

Lovren was left on the bench for in a friendly against Hungary in Budapest on March 26, and the defender said Cacic had gone back on his word by not playing him.

Croatia boss holds talks with Liverpool's Dejan Lovren after 'row'

Dejan Lovren and Ante Cacic talked after Liverpool played Stoke on Sunday.

Croatia boss Ante Cacic held a meeting with Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren on Sunday, just over a fortnight after the pair's apparent row during the international break.

A statement by the Croatian Football Federation said Cacic had spoken to Lovren, who has made 31 appearances for the national team, after Liverpool's game against Stoke at Anfield.

Cacic said in the statement: "We talked for a long time and the conversation proceeded in a sincere, spontaneous and open atmosphere."

Dejan Lovren could miss Euro 2016 after a row with Croatia coach Ante Cacic.

Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren's international future may be in doubt after Croatia's head coach Ante Cacic slammed the player for ending his warm-up routine abruptly during Saturday's 1-1 draw against Hungary.

A 29th minute goal from Mario Mandzukic gave Croatia the lead but Balazs Dzsudzsak scored for Hungary in the second half to see both sides with a share of the spoils.
