World Cup: Antoine Griezmann (58') France 1-0 Australia
Antoine Griezmann has finally announced his decision to stay at Atletico Madrid, and the FC panel can't quite believe how he went about it.
With Antoine Griezmann yet to announce his decision on his future, the FC crew discuss whether staying at Atletico would show a lack of ambition.

Atletico Madrid announced a new contract for Antoine Griezmann on Monday, days after he committed his future to the club.

Griezmann signed a contract extension for an additional season to tie him to Atletico until 2023, while the club also announced a new deal for defender Lucas Hernandez as well as officially signing midfielder Thomas Lemar from Monaco.

The French attacker had said in a television special last week that he wanted to stay at the club despite months of interest from Barcelona,...

Stephanie Brantz caught up with Julien Laurens after France squeezed past Australia with a 2-1 win.

Paul Pogba said he has become "the most-criticised player in the world" after a challenging campaign with Manchester United and now with France.

Pogba set a record for the most expensive transfer when he joined United from Juventus for £89.3 million in 2016 -- one surpassed by Paris Saint-Germain's move for Neymar last summer -- and has frequently come under fire for not living up to his billing.

The midfielder has been in and out of form in his two seasons with United and told Telefoot he...

ESPN FC's Janusz Michallik feels France's midfield lacks a true leader which could be detrimental to their World Cup hopes.

France left-back Lucas Hernandez admitted he employed some theatrics during the 2-1 World Cup win over Australia on Saturday.

After an own goal from Aziz Behich gave France the lead in the 80th minute, Hernandez said he occasionally went to ground to eat up time.

"As we saw against Australia, there are moments where I exaggerate a bit," Hernandez said at a news conference on Sunday. "It is part of the show, part of the game, [and] I am used to doing it.

"It helps the team to buy some time. I do...

Deschamps gets lucky as France beat Australia but piles on the pressure

Frank Leboeuf joins the ESPN FC crew to talk about France's underwhelming display and what must be done to play to their potential.
Alejandro Moreno says it will be difficult for Australia to reach the last 16 at the World Cup, but suggests they can create some chaos in Group C.

MOSCOW -- France did win vs. Australia, but Didier Deschamps lost.

Les Bleus got the three points they wanted with a 2-1 victory Saturday despite their manager getting pretty much everything wrong. Deschamps' ability to guide his very talented squad all the way through this World Cup had been questioned a lot before the start of the competition, and this is without a doubt the worst start he could have hoped for on a personal level.

Before facing the Socceroos, the pressure was on Deschamps...

Paul Pogba has been stripped of France's winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 Group C victory over Australia in Kazan, with his 81st-minute strike ruled as an Aziz Behich own goal.

In the final 10 minutes, Pogba was teed up by substitute Olivier Giroud, but it was Behich, not the Manchester United man, who got the final touch to deceive goalkeeper Mathew Ryan as the ball bounced over the line via the bar.

Speaking after the match about the possibility of the goal being awarded to Behich, Pogba admitted...
