Ayews overshadow Appiah squad again but Ghana's prospects look good

Kwesi Appiah has been 'shaking some tables' as Black Stars manager whenever he's unveiled a new squad, and his selection for Ghana's upcoming international friendlies is no different.

The West African giants travel to Japan and then Iceland for their first games of the year, and Appiah's call-ups have provided a clue about age-old tensions in the team.

Gyan dropped as Levante's Boateng earns debut Ghana call-up

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has handed debut call-ups to Levante's Emmanuel Boateng and Kwasi Okyere Wriedt of Bayern Munich for two international friendly games in June against Japan and Iceland.

Appiah has left out captain Asamoah Gyan while Jordan Ayew has not been called up despite a fine season with Swansea City.

There is also no place for Andre Ayew, while Newcastle United's...

"The idea of stopping is not difficult for me because I have known for some time now that I'm getting to that point," he told KweséESPN.

"The most difficult part is what to do after football."

Despite representing the...

Kwadwo Asamoah has told KweséESPN that he is leaving Juventus at the end of the season, despite receiving a new offer from the club.

The Ghana international is set to leave the Serie A champions after six years at the club as he goes in search of a new challenge.

"It's been a tough decision to make, because for six years, Juventus has been my life, and everyone here has been my family," he began.

"Leaving Juventus is like leaving a family for good but I needed to do this for my family."
