Wilfried Zaha vows to get even better after Chelsea masterclass

Wilfried Zaha delivered a star turn on Saturday as Crystal Palace got their first win of the season, and has vowed to improve as he returns to full fitness.

The Ivory Coast scored the winner as Palace picked up their first points of the campaign, with the Eagles having previously gone without finding the net during their opening seven games of the season.

Roy Hodgson - who replaced Frank de Boer after just four matches - welcomed Zaha back to the side against Chelsea, with the Ivorian having been...

Wilfried Zaha will drag Crystal Palace up the table, says Clinton Morrison

Former Crystal Palace frontman Clinton Morrison has tipped Wilfried Zaha to guide the Eagles up the table after his triumphant return to action against Chelsea on Saturday.

Palace were without a goal or a point heading into their home clash with the champions this weekend, but their fortunes turned when Zaha struck a 45th-minute winner after Tiemoue Bakayoko had cancelled out Cesar Azpilicueta's early own goal.

It was the Ivory Coast international's first appearance since the opening day of the...

Joris Gnagnon admits things aren't easy at struggling Rennes

Ivory Coast defender Joris Gnagnon is still confident that struggling Stade Rennais can turn things around in their Brittany derby against Guingamp this weekend.

Les Rouges et Noirs have endured a slow start to the season, and currently sit down in 15th having won just one of their opening eight fixtures.

20-year-old Gnagnon has conceded that things have been difficult in the Rennes camp, but is confident they can turn things around imminently.

"Mentally, it's not been easy, our results aren't good,...

Ivory Coast missed the opportunity to consolidate top spot in African World Cup qualifying Group C as they were held 0-0 by Mali in Bamako on Friday, mathematically confirming the hosts' elimination.

The Elephants, shorn of many of their best players, lacked an offensive threat throughout the contest, and continued their miserable year in which they've won just one competitive fixture.

The draw means the Ivorians end the day in top spot in Group C, but Friday's draw, coupled with their shock 2-1...

Kolo Toure hired as assistant coach with Ivory Coast

Kolo Toure in action for Celtic against Manchester City in the Champions League.
Kolo Toure retired from playing football this summer and has quickly taken up coaching.

Kolo Toure has been appointed as an assistant coach to the Ivory Coast national team.

The former Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City defender will work under former Belgium coach Marc Wilmots, the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) announced on Thursday.

The posting comes soon after the 36-year-old, who hung up his boots in the summer, took up a role on the backroom staff of his last club Celtic.

Ivory Coast, with whom Toure won the African Nations Cup as a player in 2015, face Mali in their next...
