NYCFC's Mehdi Ballouchy announces retirement after decade in MLS

Longtime MLS journeyman Mehdi Ballouchy has called it a career.

New York City FC announced on Friday that the 33-year-old Moroccan has retired following a decade-long professional career.

The Casablanca-born midfielder spent the last two seasons with NYCFC, appearing in 23 league games. He also spent time with Real Salt Lake, Colorado Rapids, New York Red Bulls and Vancouver Whitecaps after being taken second overall in the 2006 MLS Superdraft.

Spain rallied with two late goals to salvage a 2-2 draw with England in a friendly at Wembley on Tuesday.

Chelsea duo Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel scored for Nigeria as they continued their perfect start to World Cup qualifying with a 3-1 win against Algeria that left them four points clear at the top of Group B.

Herve Renard has won the African Cup of Nations twice as a manager.

Morocco coach Herve Renard is not relishing the challenge of facing former charges Ivory Coast nor mentor Claude Le Roy at next year's African Cup of Nations.
