Argentina rally late to draw with Venezuela, Neymar wins it for Brazil

An Argentina side without Lionel Messi mounted a second-half comeback to earn a 2-2 draw against Venezuela.
Brazil defender Dani Alves believes that leadership is the key to his teams stability.

CONMEBOL minnows Venezuela nearly pulled off a shock win against a Leo Messi-less Argentina, drawing 2-2 in Merida on Tuesday night.

Goals from Juanpi and Josef Martinez had the hosts two up with just over half an hour to play, but Edgardo Bauza's men eventually fought their way into the match.

Paraguay target World Cup qualification as Arce makes his mark

Francisco Arce, right, is carrying on work that was begun by Ramon Diaz.

And the Barcelona superstar made it a happy homecoming in Mendoza with a fine strike in the 43rd minute -- the Argentina captain...

CONMEBOL has named Monserrat Jimenez to help restructure the organisation.

ASUNCION, Paraguay -- South American football body CONMEBOL said it appointed legal director Monserrat Jimenez as interim director general.

She joins recently hired FIFA secretary general Fatma Samoura as the most senior female administrators in the sport.

Jimenez, a lawyer from Paraguay, takes on extra duty to help steer CONMEBOL through turmoil and restructuring after its past three presidents were indicted by the U.S. Justice Department last year for alleged bribery.

FIFA withheld millions of...
