Vicente Del Bosque and Spain leave France, but will this spell the end for the Spain manager?

Vicente del Bosque has revealed that he will resign as coach of Spain, days after the reigning champions crashed out of Euro 2016.

Del Bosque, 65, had previously said he would step down following Euro 2016 and, after Spain lost to Italy in the round-of-16 stage on Monday, he confirmed earlier reports from AS and Marca on Thursday that he would be quitting at the end of his contract.

"Without a doubt, I have no intention to remain as coach, but you have to be discreet. No matter what the result of...

Joaquin Caparros interested in Spain job but hopes Vicente del Bosque stays

Vicente Del Bosque and Spain leave France, but will this spell the end for the Spain manager?

Former Granada coach Joaquin Caparros has said he would be "honoured" to manage Spain, but hopes that Vicente del Bosque will remain in charge of La Roja.

Del Bosque's future is currently in doubt following Spain's Euro 2016 exit at the hands of Italy in the round-of-16 stage on Monday.

The 65-year-old has yet to clarify his plans but is expected to leave the post, with Caparros, former Spain under-21 boss Julen Lopetegui and ex-La Roja coach Jose Antonio Camacho all having been tipped to succeed...

Euro quarterfinals: Germany, France favourites as we hit the business end

Relive the epic heartache, late victories and historic feats that led up to Euro 2016's quarterfinals.
ESPN FC's Ross Dyer and Steve Nicol predict the Euro 2016 quarterfinal fixtures.

PARIS -- And then there were eight.

It doesn't matter if, like Germany or France, you expected to reach the Euro quarterfinals. Or if, like Portugal, with zero wins in 90 minutes, you're not quite sure how you got here except sheer bloody-mindedness. Or if, like Belgium, you lost your footing early and then recovered. Or if, like Iceland, Hollywood scriptwriters are knocking on your door wanting to chronicle the greatest upset since ... well, since Leicester City won the Premier League this season.

Spain don't need 'deep change' after Euro 2016 exit - Lucas Vazquez

Vicente Del Bosque and Spain leave France, but will this spell the end for the Spain manager?
Italian fans enjoy last 16 glory as a 2-0 win over Spain saw them progress to the Quarter finals of Euro 2016.
ESPN FC's Alison Bender gets a first-hand look at the rematch between Italy and Spain, with a different outcome this time around.
The After Dark panel breakdown Italy's tactical deconstruction of Spain and how they're exceeding expectations at Euro 2016.

Spain winger Lucas Vazquez says there is no need for a "deep change" or "big transformation" in the La Roja squad, despite the nation's early exit from Euro 2016 being a second successive failure at a major tournament.

Vicente del Bosque's side were beaten 2-0 by Italy on Monday at the Stade de France, with a team still mostly based around players from their World Cup 2010 and Euro 2012 successes looking tired and off the pace -- just as they did at the World Cup in Brazil two years ago.

Iker Casillas hints at Spain retirement with rousing Rambo II clip

With Spain toppling out of Euro 2016 at the first knockout hurdle on Monday afternoon against Italy, goalkeeper Iker Casillas' 167-cap La Roja career could be set to come to an end.

Indeed, the long-serving 35-year-old hinted that an official announcement is forthcoming via social media the very next evening, though chose to do so in a slightly confusing manner, thanking his legions of followers before posting a fitting snippet from Rambo II.

The video comes from the final scene of the movie and...
