Yusuf before Iraq's game against Vietnam outside the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.

The Asian Cup is considered the World Cup for Asian nations, and one can see a glimpse of that in the playing styles on display. Faris Ramli beaten to top award by Nagasaki at FAS Nite 2017

Home United's Faris Ramli was pipped to S.League Player of the Year (POTY) by Kento Nagasaki, of Albirex Niigata (S), at the inaugural Football Association of Singapore (FAS) Nite 2017.

Despite enjoying an outstanding individual season, which garnered 21 goals and as many assists in all competitions, Faris finished second behind Nagasaki, who helped Albirex complete their second consecutive quadruple of trophies.

A first international goal from Irfan Fandi was not enough for Singapore at Kopetdag Stadium in Ashgabat on Tuesday night as they fell to a late 2-1 defeat to Turkmenistan.

The Lions seemed on course for a heroic away draw before suffering a 93rd-minute sucker punch when the home side scored their winning goal.

Earlier, the eldest son of Singapore legendary forward Fandi Ahmad equalised for Singapore on 27 minutes to cancel Vahyt Orazsahedov's 18th-minute opener.

Continuing in the 3-4-3 formation...
