Vipers' title win was no fluke - Miguel da Costa

Vipers Sports Club head coach Miguel da Costa believes that his side's Uganda Super League title triumph this season was "no fluke".

The Wakiso Town-based club sealed the championship on the final day of the season on Friday when they humbled UPDF FC 4-1 at St Mary's Stadium.

That triumph took Vipers up to 65 points, while second-placed KCCA FC - who ended their campaign with a 2-2 away draw against Police FC in Namboole - finish on 61 points.

"We have worked hard for this trophy and no one should...

Uganda Premier League: Who will win the title?

The 2017/2018 Uganda Premier League will reach a conclusion Friday as table-toppers Vipers SC and second-placed KCCA FC aim to clinch the title.

Vipers lead the table on 62 points, but know that only a win will guarantee the league at home against UPDF FC. A draw could leave them level with KCCA FC, currently on 60 points, if the reigning champions win away at Police FC.

In this scenario, the Kampala heavyweights would take the title on goal difference, with KCCA FC currently on +33 compared to...

Dramatic Ugandan title race set to go to final day

The Ugandan title race will only be settled on the final day of the season after Vipers Sports Club and KCCA FC both picked up wins in their penultimate fixtures on Tuesday.

Dan Sserunkuma netted a hat-trick as Vipers thrashed relegation-threatened Express FC 5-0 to move up to 62 points, and they'll wrap up the title with a win at home against UPDF on Friday.

KCCA FC's late 2-1 victory over Bidco FC takes them to 60 points, and means that they can still retain their title if they defeat Police FC...

Al Ahly win can lift KCCA FC to title - Mutebi

KCCA FC have renewed energy and belief heading into the final stretch of the Ugandan title race after defeating African giants Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League, according to head coach Mike Mutebi.

The Super League heavyweights defeated eight-time champions Ahly 2-0 in Africa's premier club competition on Tuesday to secure arguably the finest result by any Ugandan side in continental competition.

Mutebi hopes that the momentum from that triumph can help them overhaul Vipers SC to retain their...

KCCA triumph offers belief to Ugandan football - Desabre

Uganda head coach Sebastien Desabre believes that KCCA FC's shock victory over Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League on Tuesday should convince the nation's teams that they can beat anyone.

The Ugandan champions defeated the eight-time African champions 2-0 in a Group A clash in Namboole following goals from Ibrahim Saddam Juma and Denis Timothy Awany.

It takes them second in their group behind Esperance, and Desabre believes that their performance is testament to the burgeoning strength of the Ugandan...
