Craig Burley and Steve Nicol weigh the pros and cons of Chris Coleman leaving the Wales job to manage Sunderland.

Ryan Giggs has declared a firm interest in becoming the next Wales manager.

The Football Association of Wales hopes to appoint a successor to Chris Coleman before the draw for the new UEFA Nations League takes place in Switzerland on Jan. 24.

And former Manchester United and Wales winger Giggs has joined the likes of his ex-international teammate John Hartson and Coleman's assistant Osian Roberts in throwing his hat into the ring.

Wales FA say new manager will be 'definitely not English'

Chris Coleman was appointed as Sunderland manager after signing a two-and-a-half-year contract
Wales are looking to replace Chris Coleman as manager after he joined Sunderland.

Welsh football's governing body have ruled out the idea of an Englishman becoming the next Wales manager.

The Football Association of Wales hopes to appoint Chris Coleman's successor before the draw for the new UEFA Nations League takes place in Switzerland on Jan. 24.

The 38-year-old former striker -- the fourth most-capped player in Welsh football history -- is currently working within the youth set-up at his hometown club Cardiff.

"I'd always be interested in that job. Even now at this present moment, of course I am," Bellamy told Sky Sports....

Craig Burley and Steve Nicol weigh the pros and cons of Chris Coleman leaving the Wales job to manage Sunderland.

New Sunderland boss Chris Coleman has insisted he left his job as Wales manager with no bitterness over the difference of opinion which prompted his exit.

The 47-year-old was formally unveiled as struggling Sunderland's latest manager on Monday morning, barely three days after deciding not to renew his contract with Wales, who he guided to the Euro 2016 semifinals during a hugely successful six-year spell in charge.

As he took up the reins on Wearside, Coleman, who failed to guide Wales to the 2018...

Mark Hughes recommends Ryan Giggs for Wales job as Coleman departs

Craig Burley and Steve Nicol weigh the pros and cons of Chris Coleman leaving the Wales job to manage Sunderland.

Mark Hughes has backed Ryan Giggs to succeed Chris Coleman as the next manager of Wales.

Coleman left the role on Friday to take over at Championship strugglers Sunderland, and Giggs has now been installed as favourite for the post.

Stoke boss Hughes was given the chance to lead his country in 1999 and did the job for five years before taking over at Blackburn.

And the 54-year-old believes there are parallels between his own lack of managerial experience at the time of his appointment, and that...
