Mexico's Marco Fabian: Fenerbahce move broke down over money

Marco Fabian has said he wants to stay at Eintracht Frankfurt and claimed his move to Fenerbahce broke down over money rather than a medical issue.

The Mexico international, 29, was pictured with a Fenerbahce scarf at the end of August and a switch to Frankfurt appeared a formality.

But the move eventually broke down, leading to claims a back problem was to blame -- something that Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic strenuously denied.

"It had all been agreed on the previous week,...

Loris Karius surrenders late equaliser in first Besiktas appearance

After Loris Karius' tumultuous Champions League final, Shaka Hislop feels his move to Besiktas will be a breath of fresh air for him.

On-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius conceded a late equaliser in his first appearance for Besikstas, a 1-1 draw against Bursaspor on Sunday.

Karius, who finalised a two-year loan on Aug. 25, came out to claim a cross from the byline from Bursaspor midfielder Yusuf Erdogan, but forward Diafra Sakho reached it at the edge of the box before the goalkeeper and tapped home in the 86th minute.

Replaced in July as Liverpool's No. 1 by Alisson, who signed from Roma for a club record €62.5 million,...

Mexico international Marco Fabian's failed transfer a 'disgrace' - Frankfurt chief

Eintracht Frankfurt's Marco Fabian represented Mexico at the World Cup after back surgery.

Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Fredi Bobic called Marco Fabian's collapsed transfer to Fenerbahce a "disgrace" and rejected the idea he could no longer play following back surgery in 2017.

Fabian, 29, was deemed surplus to requirements at Frankfurt last week, and going into the final year of his contract, the club hoped to offload him to Fenerbahce.

The midfielder arrived in Turkey to complete the transfer on Sunday, but following the medical, Fenerbahce backed away from the deal and it collapsed.

Malatyaspor players show support for Mesut Ozil with anti-racism T-shirts

Despite Unai Emery's fresh ideas at Arsenal, ESPN FC's Craig Burley isn't so sure the Gunners will secure a top four spot.
Jurgen Klopp tells ESPN FC's Mark Ogden that although he respects Mesut Ozil's decision not to play for Germany, neither side appears entirely in the right.

Players for Malatyaspor, a team in Turkey's Super Lig, wore shirts in support of former Germany international Mesut Ozil before their friendly on Saturday.

Ozil, who was born in Germany but has Turkish heritage, accused the German football federation and president Reinhard Grindel of racism when he decided to quit international competition last month.

The shirts, worn before the 2-1 victory against second-division side Gazisehir Gaziantep, featured a photo of Ozil's face with the phrase "We are...
