Full-time: And that's it, the full-time whistle blows as Villarreal take a 1-0 win from the first leg of their Europa League semifinal vs. Liverpool.
In Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk finish with a 2-2 draw vs. Sevilla, who will carry a pair of crucial away goals to the return leg in Spain in seven days' time.
90'+2: GOAL for Villarreal! Liverpool are furious that the offside flag stays down, but Denis Suarez finds himself in the box alone with Mignolet, only to square the ball for Adrian Lopez, who coolly taps into an empty net! Villarreal 1-0 Liverpool!
90': Christian Benteke replaces Roberto Firmino in Liverpool's attack.
Christian Benteke gets a handful of seconds in which to reverse a year of criticism. Nice.— James Tyler (@JamesTylerESPN) April 28, 2016
87': After Jordon Ibe sloppily gives away possession, which has been a theme for both sides in the past 10 minutes, the ball eventually finds Bakambu on the edge of the area. Simon Mignolet gets down well to his right to make a sprawling save to keep it scoreless.
Alberto Moreno sprints down the other end of the pitch immediately following, but his shot is well high and wide.
82': GOAL for Sevilla! Kevin Gameiro scores from the spot and things are now level at Shakhtar, but the Spanish side have two valuable away goals! Shakhtar 2-2 Sevilla.
75': Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Michael Krohn-Dehli is stretchered off in visible pain. His Sevilla still trail Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1
75': Eric Bailly is on the floor holding his left hamstring. He limps off as the trainers gesture for a substitution. He's replaced by Mateo Musacchio.
74': Adrian Lopez replaces Roberto Soldado up top for the Yellow Submarine.
69': Liverpool sitting back, inviting Villarreal to bring numbers forward, only to switch on the press as the hosts enter the final third. Really trying to bait Villarreal here.
65': Roberto Firmino catches the Villarreal backline napping, calling for offside, and crashes his strike off the woodwork. Still scoreless with 25 minutes to go.
63': Jaume Costa literally runs into Dejan Lovren's elbow and there's blood spilling from the Spaniard's face.
Villarreal have only failed to score in one of their last 31 Europa League matches (including qualifiers). Have knack of late goals too.— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 28, 2016
58': Denis Suarez has just nutmegged James Milner. The former Barcelona B man pulled a similar trick against Joe Allen early in the first half. Still 0-0 at the Madrigal.
55': Not been Roberto Firmino's day. Another spell of Liverpool possession on the edge of the Villarreal area ends when the Brazilian's simple square ball is well off target and the hosts regain possession. Firmino has looked as anonymous as he did in his first months on Merseyside.
52': Liverpool seeing a little more of the ball in the second half now, establishing a bit of possession in the Villarreal third. Circulation has been good, but too labourious to create any sort of clear-cut chance for the visitors.
46': Bakambu's glancing header from a corner kick smashes off the outside of the post 60 seconds into the second half.
46': Jordon Ibe replaces Philippe Coutinho and the second half is underway at the Madrigal!

No goals, final ball not great, but Villarreal-Liverpool very watchable. Pace, pressing, intensity. Liverpool defending well so far.— Henry Winter (@henrywinter) April 28, 2016
Liverpool badly missing Origi [or similar player] I reckons - getting ball in decent positions wide, but nobody in centre to aim at.— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 28, 2016
Half-time: Scoreless at the Madrigal. Room for improvement for Liverpool, though Jurgen Klopp should be satisfied to be 0-0 despite an opening 45 minutes in which they never really clicked. Marcelino of Villarreal, however, should be ecstatic and willing his charges to stay the course in the second half. They've had a handful of chances, just yet to find that clinical finish.
Meanwhile, in Ukraine, Shakhtar Donetsk come back from a goal down to lead Sevilla 2-1.
42': Roberto Soldado picks up possession at the top of Liverpool's 18-yard box. He settles his feet and shapes a shot on target, but it grazes the outside of the post and rolls out for a goal kick. The Yellow Submarine beginning to probe.
41': Villarreal again content to allow Liverpool to trot through midfield and push forward out wide, tightening up those banks of four in the centre of the park on the edge of their own area. Really nullifying the guests' ability to get into dangerous areas in transition.
36': GOAL for Shakhtar Donetsk! Taras Stepanenko has the hosts in front of the back-to-back defending Europa League champions Sevilla!
35': The deliberation of each and every movement, pass and decision from Villarreal has really stopped Liverpool's press in its tracks. The Merseyside club do look dangerous in transition, but they've struggled to implement their style of play in this contest. Marcelino deserves some credit for preparing his team for Liverpool.
30': Dos Santos returns to action, but he's visibly limping. We'll keep an eye on him as the match progresses.
29': Jonathan dos Santos goes down after a 50-50 ball in the air with Alberto Moreno. The Mexican international gets to his feet to try to walk it off and he's back on the floor, writhing in pain and holding his arms over his eyes. The Villarreal subs bench jumps to life.
Clyne getting a lot of joy down left side of Villarreal's defence. Liverpool plenty of crosses from there so far, delivery not great.— Dermot Corrigan (@dermotmcorrigan) April 28, 2016
23': GOAL for Shakhtar Donetsk! Marlos has levelled things in Ukraine! Shakhtar 1-1 Sevilla.
22': Immediately following the last update, the Yellow Submarine conducts a sequence in which they fire three shots on Simon Mignolet's net in quick succession, but the keeper and his defenders are well up for the challenge. Still 0-0.
21': Villarreal's two banks of four proving difficult for Liverpool to find any daylight in. The visitors stride forward using width each time they regain possession, but again, there's been no end product. Villarreal's patience looks to be paying off through the opening 20 minutes.
Are Villarreal better than Dortmund? Not as exciting, maybe, but more... reliable. (I don't know, just wondering)— Miguel Delaney (@MiguelDelaney) April 28, 2016
16': Neither side has been able to maintain much in the way of possession as the ball has been given away rather cheaply at both ends of the pitch. Both sides have been proactive in winning possession and breaking with pace, but neither have shown any end product.
12': Roberto Soldado gets onto the edge of a free kick on the right side of Simon Mignolet's area, but the former Tottenham man blasts his shot across the face of goal and wide of the far post. Villarreal's build-up play has slowed some as Liverpool's press has eased in the past handful of minutes.
6': GOAL for Sevilla! Vitolo has put the back-to-back Europa League champions in front of Shakhtar 1-0!
6': Denis Suarez, the Europa League's leading assist man, breaks free down the left and delivers an enticing-looking cross but Cedric Bakambu can't get on the end of it. The Spanish side finding some joy in breaking at speed when they win the ball back, but Liverpool dictating play in the early going. Joe Allen gets on the end of a series of passes in the area and fires his first-time shot into the chest of Sergio Asenjo.
3': Liverpool taking the shape of a 4-3-3, with Roberto Firmino leading the line, as Villarreal settle into their usual 4-4-2.
