Barcelona's Luis Suarez heads up 23-man Uruguay squad

Luis Suarez is among the star names in the 23-man Uruguay squad for this summer's Copa America in the United States.

Suarez made his competitive international return in March after serving his FIFA ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during the 2014 World Cup, and the Barcelona star represents a major asset to Uruguay, who reached the quarterfinal stage in last summer's Copa America.

Coach Oscar Tabarez has also included Nicolas Lodeiro in the squad even though the Boca Juniors midfielder is still recovering from a knee injury, while Middlesbrough loanee Gaston Ramirez makes the cut despite suffering a nasty shin injury against Brighton last week

The squad also includes key players such as Atletico Madrid duo Diego Godin and Jose Maria Gimenez and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.

Uruguay open their Copa America campaign against Mexico at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ, on June 5.
